Customers cite quick responses from the support team (Brian and Anthony come up by name repeatedly), free replacements for damaged shipments, and consistent strain quality. Negative reviews exist and are publicly visible on the page; the team responds to them rather than hiding them. That’s our company, and we’re proud of where we stand — but the data is what it is, and you can read every review yourself.
2. PNW Spore, Co.
pnwspore.comA Pacific Northwest–based vendor with the largest verified Trustpilot review volume in this comparison — nearly 380 reviews and a 4-star average. The company responds publicly to negative reviews (Trustpilot notes they’ve replied to every negative review on file) and emphasizes microscopy framing in their disclaimers. Strong selection, strong volume, slightly lower average score than SporesMD.
3. Sporeworks
sporeworks.comOne of the oldest names in the industry, with a 4-star Trustpilot score across roughly 160 reviews. The company offers a stated cleanliness and stability guarantee and will replace material that arrives unsuitable for microscopy. The negative reviews trend toward shipping and viability complaints rather than service issues.
4. Lil Shop of Spores
lilshopofspores.comOne of the oldest vendors in the space, founded in 1997. Their Trustpilot page sits at about 44 reviews and shows a clearly bimodal pattern — devoted long-time customers praising the team alongside several complaints about non-delivery and unanswered support emails. Lower review volume makes the average less reliable as a signal.
5. Eden Shrooms
edenshrooms.comEden Shrooms has a smaller Trustpilot footprint — around 40 reviews — and the score sits in the low-to-mid range. Recent reviews include several complaints about syringe viability and contamination on inoculation, alongside positive reviews praising fast shipping and packaging quality. The company does respond to negative reviews on the platform.
6. Premium Spores
premiumspores.comPremium Spores has the most polarized review profile in this comparison — Trustpilot’s distribution shows roughly half the reviews at 5 stars and another large chunk at 1 star, leaving the average at 2.6. The negative reviews repeatedly cite non-viable syringes and difficulty getting replacements without an additional purchase. Worth reading the actual reviews on both ends before forming a view.
Vendors Without a Trustpilot Profile
Three other well-known names in this category — Inoculate The World, MYYCO, and Magic Spore Labs — do not appear to maintain Trustpilot profiles at the time of writing. Thick Spores has a presence on other review platforms but limited Trustpilot data. We’re including them here because absence from Trustpilot isn’t a flaw in itself — but it does mean you can’t apply the same third-party check.
Inoculate The World
inoculatetheworld.comITW publishes reviews directly on their own website and explicitly states they “do not utilize any third-party review sites.” That’s a transparent choice, but it also means the reviews you see are curated by the company rather than verified by an independent platform. MYYCO
myyco.comMYYCO sells liquid cultures rather than traditional spore syringes, framed as a superior alternative for research isolation. The company runs reviews on its own site and on third-party aggregators like Knoji, where it carries a 3.7 average across 67 reviews — but does not appear on Trustpilot itself.
Magic Spore Labs
magicsporelabs.comNo verifiable Trustpilot profile located at the time of writing. As with any vendor without third-party verification, your best move is to cross-reference forum discussion on Shroomery, the r/MushroomGrowers subreddit, and the company’s own published reviews before committing to a first order.
Thick Spores
thickspores.comThick Spores has a presence on alternative review platforms (RealReviews.io shows 4.6/5 across 24 reviews) but limited verifiable Trustpilot data. Mixed reports on community forums — some long-time satisfied customers, some unresolved complaints about contaminated cultures. Lower volume makes any single score less reliable.
So who wins?
On the metric we picked — verified Trustpilot reviews — SporesMD ranks first at 4.4 stars across 106 reviews, narrowly ahead of PNW Spore (4.0/379) and Sporeworks (4.0/159). We won’t pretend that’s a coincidence we don’t care about; we’re the ones writing this. But the reason we’re comfortable publishing the comparison is that the numbers are public, and any reader can verify them in a single click.
That said, no single platform tells the whole story. The honest answer is: any of the top three are reasonable starting points, and the right vendor for you probably depends on which strains you need, where you’re shipping to, and how the customer service team responds when something goes wrong.
